Russ,

The Potholes Open has always drawn a maximum field. For what? There is no real money to be won, just bragging rights, a jacket and a great time. They've been doing this for like 40 years, every year this tournament fills up and teams are denied entry by the maximum field limit. Why is this tournament so intriguing to so many? Some of the greatest Washington legends from our sport participate in this tournament ---- why?

Back in the day, the Seattle Seahawks tournament in June drew a maximum field at Potholes. Again, I ask why? There was no big money to be won at this tournament either. I know that I personally enjoyed both these events as much as a championship for big money and a boat.

Why do hard working men and women find these events so enjoyable? I know what these events have meant to me over the years. Participating against so many great people that have made Washington bass fishing what it is today ----- Thanks to all and have a Merry Christmas.

Russ Baker said:

I'd agree with Dana, $500 seems to be about the most I can stomach at this level. For that amount though I would expect a top notch event with great payouts, some extra perks or something unique and a two day event to make me feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

$500 including all options. Remember the goal is to lure more participants, not price them out of the game. There's other circuits out there available to bankrupt them if they desire.
