When using a Coyote spoon, should I be using a flasher ahead of it? If so, since the lure has action of its own, do I then use a longer leader instead of a short one that I'd use for a hoochie? Also how bout leader material. Last year I was told that I should be using 40lb or better flourocarbon for my hoochies, same for spoons?

Use the flasher as an added attractor and you'll be ok running 30lb FC between 30 and 36 inches. Shorter and heavier leaders provide better action with the hootchies.

I fish a flasher ahead of my Coyote spoons.

I usually run 36-42" leaders.

I use 40+ lb test leaders for Hootchies and 25-30 lb test leaders for spoons.
