Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

This isn't about bass fishing, I just wanted to share it with the bass fishing community.

On November 9th is an event called the "Winter Pineapple Classic". It is a 5k team obstacle course, and it is held to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. LLS is an organization that does many great things for people who are fighting cancers of the blood, including educational classes for patients, family, and caregivers; counseling for patients and family; and financial assistance for patients who cannot afford the enourmous cost of cancer treatment; as well as supprt for further research to help increase survival rates.

My brother was recently diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia, and is currently undergoing treatment at UW Medical Center. They told him that out of the 50 other cases that have been diagnosed of this particular cancer, none have survived past 5 years. I would like to see that statistic change.

I know that once we get into November most folks in this area go into hybernation mode. I'm hoping that there's some folks out there in WAfish land that will postpone their hybernation until after 11/9 and come out to support this event.

This is the link to the site that has all of the info about the event.

There is a full Hawaiian luau and beer garden following the event, which is also open to folks who do not do the course for only $5 a plate! So even if you dont run the course, you can still come out and support the cause at the luau.

Thanks.
