If you only could choose two swimbaits to have in your tackle box for Washington lakes, what would they be including size and color?

For smallmouth, the KGM TW Swimmer 475 size in Kokanee.
For largemouth, the Hiroshima Customs 8.5" two-piece glide in Rainbow Trout.
The 8-inch Huddleston Deluxe in Rainbow Trout would be next on the list.
river2sea kong - in troot and perch shine in wa.

KGM TW Swimmer kokanee color  (smallies) & The 6" Triple Trout custom color SB (Largies)

Pick a swimmer and build confidence in it, but dont go cheap. If you start small you could build a false confidence, then when you up in size you will be dissapointed since your numbers will drop bigtime, unless you are Tag of course.

Where can I buy the Hiroshima?
b-rock is the man, but nothing beats a slide swimma! 250 or bust!

Tag, Thanks for the info. Where can one purchase the Hiroshima bait? It looks awesome. What type of line do you use so you never lose one?

Hey Jeff,

You can purchase the Hiroshima Customs bait directly from Brock @ Hiroshima Customs. They are somewhere in the $100-$120 price point and currently there is an 8+ week lead time due to the large waiting list. Worth every penny and well worth the wait - Spring is a long ways away.

I throw this lure on 65# braid to a long 30# fluoro leader. I use an 8'6" XH Musky Rod with a Mod/Fast action. This lure is heavy.

Regarding T-Dot's (my buddy btw) comment on the Deps, while he is a very good swimbait angler, keep in mind two things:
1) To my knowledge, he has not ever thrown the Hiroshima bait and has no point of reference for comparison.
2) He now lives in the Midwest and is a closet Musky-chaser.
that be true. i should have been more pacific!

my hiroshima experience is lived through dean and taj. that being said, 9/10 still say deps or bust (with ppl who have thrown both). another alternative is the negotiator. great bait, totally different lure too!

bait preference is really a personal preference. you really have to try all baits to have a true experience. im not saying a is better than b, and c sucks, but unfortunately i touched a deps first... and i havent looked back.

the adv i see is b-rock's is smaller vs the deps. if you go deps, you should only really buy the 10inch. everything else really does sucks.

either way you are looking at a huge wait time, no matter which way you go.

i have totally moved away from braid, and run straight mono. i only touch braid is when i run double frogs. 867 dobyns ova hurr.

kicker for me is when you try lures, it is still an investment. deps has an insane resale value. you wont lose $ trying them out.

My favorite is the Megabait Charlie 5" or 6.5".  I like the depth control I get with a billed swimbait's retrieve, and it has a great action.  I prefer the Ayu color, as my lake has no stocked trout.

Great feedback, T-Dizzle.  I was just giving you some West Coast razz!

I prefer catching trout and then nose hooking them on a dropshot.
