Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

At the TBF divisional last month we quickly found out that there was no electronic chart available, no matter what brand of electronics you use or what charting card you have. All we had to go on was a free map given out at the hotel. It showed an outline of the lake and some basic contours, but not much.

Even though I felt like I was fishing blind and going old school all week when I was there, it was a good chance to map the lake. I recorded my trails and uploaded them to Navionics afterwards. They sent me a Google earth file showing me where I went and the map is now there for anyone to use. It is especially detailed around the two major flats on this lake that I fished quite a bit. Here is a before and after as well as the Google earth file they sent me showing my tracks. This particular area is an island with a large flat behind it and I fished there a bunch as you can see.

Here is the before and after of what it looks like.

The cool thing is anyone can now use this for free by using the Navionics WebApp on the website or by using the mobile app. If you have questions on how to upload your logs send me a message and I'll let you know how. For Lowrance its as easy as pushing a few buttons, exporting the file to an SD card and uploading it to the Navionics website. Hummibird and other brands are also simple and do not need too much extra work.
