Anybody want to recommend some hard jerkbaits that wont' get a guy divorced if he wanted to buy 5 or 10 of em?  What alternatives are out there?

I lost an LC pointer this weekend in some rocks, and had to gather myself before getting back on the trolling motor.

The best Irish made hard baits: http://www.rapala.com/products/lures/ I use some LC but mostly Rapala! I have caught lots of fish with these excellent hard baits.
Save your money and get some Slender Pointers!!!! I just bought a handful of Megabass to try against my LCs.  I'm single right now so I have some more disposable income...

Buy one of these or one like it and keep buying what you're confident in. You won't lose another bait again. I lost my first crankbait in about 4 years last weekend and thats cause my lure retriever couldn't pull that chain up that my hooks were snagged in and they wouldn't bend because they were Mustad short shank 2's. lol.   Seriously, I hate fishing without a lure retriever after having one!!!!

Smithwick rogues are another great jerkbait that or overlooked and the spro mcstick is a great bait.

MegaBass vision 110 & River2 Sea Suspen88  ! Im not a big fan of rapala ..
Dez, why not a fan of rapala?  What are some of the downfalls of a rapala jerkbait compared to some of the others mentioned, or lets just say rapala vs. LC ?
I have tried to buy a certain pattern of Husky Jerk 3x now and none of them suspend right in the water...

PJ , You have ran into the same problems i have with these jerks .. I Have added a ton of suspend dots to get the action that i desire out them but yet they still to still float or sink more then i perfer .. Kinda sucks because i like many of there colors i just refuse to continue make those baits track the way i would perfer  .. I will always be a fan of there Crankbaits :-)

Other names include Daiwa's TD Minnow and Jackall Squad Minnows. I'll 2nd the guys who stated the Rapala Husky Jerks, these are great baits.

Did anyone read Snakes complete thread? I am sure he was asking about cheaper alternatives. Dez recomends megabass even though they cost $10 more than a L.C. I am pretty sure he doesn't know how to read though, his second suggestion makes more sense, then Russ recomends the squad minnow which is the same price and another lure that has been discontinued and when they are found are expensive, he third statement is totally on point. I just thought I would point this out.

Are you guys talking about the Rapala Husky jerks or are you talking about the Rapala X-Rap's, I have caught fish on both versions and used to tear them up when the husky jerks first came out.  Still  Suspending rogues have been around for a long time and work great as well.

Yes Ron,

I was looking for cheaper alternatives.  Sorry guys, I should have been more clear.   Maybe plunking down the xtra money along with a lure retreiver is a good way to go.

I'm guessing you get what you pay for on jerkbaits that suspend.

Thanks again for the input.

I have heard good things about the X-rap and have a couple in the box I plan on fishing, but the only Husky jerk I have done good on has been the tiny size.  This was also the only one that suspended the way I thought they were supposed to.
