Jeff getting the workout on the board and bringing in those green fish! Do work
Small lakes water temps down here in the S. Sound over the weekend were around 50 degrees. This makes for a great smallmouth jerkbait crankbait bite, also makes the Largemouth seek shallow cover. The weather over last weekend was way better for catching than these high bluebird days. Those fish get lethargic with just high bright sun....it's like you sitting in a sun room, It makes you sleepy and ready for a nap! Might have witnessed the best early March reaction bites ever in washington state. Let's not forget we're barely out of February. Leave the rest up to your imagination!
Fishing from the board is easier than it looks. It gets tricky in the wind or when a large boat goes by. You are limited to one pole and whatever tackle you can fit in your pockets. For deeper structure, I use a wrist watch depth finder that gets a signal from a tiny float attached to the board. It's perfect for a quick fix when you don't want to hook up the boat etc. It is very stealthy in the shallows. It's a trip, literally, when you hook a big one and the dog is running up and down the board barking.

Are we talking about fish still?
