Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I couldn't resist the nice weather going on lately so I got the boat out and give it a try for the first time this year. Merwin is 8-10 feet low which was very nice to see. I can't believe all of the structure I have been missing. It was calm and 32 in the morning but warmed up to 55+. Sounds cold but it was acually very nice in the sun. The water temp was 43-45 and pretty clear for this time of year.  I only fished the North side of the lake to catch as much sun as possible and find the warmest water possible. In any case as anybody could have told me I never had a bite. I did however see a 45" fish sunning himself a foot deep over a stump.

I know that the CMA tourney last year on Merwin boated multiple fish, after what was reported to be a tough week by a knowledgable native fisher. Do you guys think the trend on Merwin for lure selection is moving tward gliders and such? Or are bucktails still the way to go?
