Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I felt it was a positive meeting with good vibes between the lake residents and anglers. The anglers in the audience acquitted themselves admirably. The lake residents were receptive to learning about tiger muskies. Sen. Roach wants an outcome that will satisfy everyone. The WDFW people did a great job of defending the tiger musky stocking program with scientific facts, including a slideshow explaining the stocking program, and promised the lake residents a new lake survey. (The last one was done in 1997.) Some lake residents want rainbow trout and/or kokanee reinstated in Tapps, and WDFW will look at that after the lake survey is done. Meanwhile, we can expect tiger musky stocking at Tapps to continue as it has been.

Don, thanks for coming and interrupting your trip. I think we had a good turnout and things look positive.

I think overall it was good and now we have a dialogue. I would have liked to have seen more musky anglers present considering the importance of this meeting but again, nice job to the folks that showed up.

Also nice to see Aaron and Mark of the Puyallup Hawg Hunters attending.
