Poaching

If we (Musky fishermen) are going to get rid of poachers this year we all have to turn them in when we see them. Take pictures of the boat and registration numbers and send them to WDFW. Call 911 also. If you are not familiar with the MO of the poachers just look for boats anchored at trees on Merwin. Most of the boats I have seen are not particularly fishing boats. They always seem to have a passenger keeping look out while one snorkels. Poaching season will start soon as the weather warms and the fish sun themselves. Please take the time out of your fishing day to investigate suspicious boats.

Calling 911 is correct as this is a "crime in progress". The police will notify the correct authority and hopefully respond. Merwin Reservoir seems to be the main focus of the spearing of muskies.

Interesting they seem to have a lookout. Pretty obvious they know the laws but typically fall on the crutch of ignorance as an excuse. Will be watching on all the lakes.
