Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

My favorite fishery in WA state is the fall Kings on the Humptulips River. These fish are big and mean! My girlfriend loves to fish, she caught a few humpy's some coho and even a few fish on the flyrod this year. She had heard me and my friends talk about the Humptulips and couldnt wait to go. So we had made our plans a few months ahead of time and had to stick to them. The forcast showed heavy rains and I knew the river would be out by Saturday and so Friday would be our only day to fish. We got to the river about noon on Friday. She lost a couple right off the back. And finally hooked up a big Kinger! She landed it and then she caught another one only slightly smaller that she put back. It was a little colored but still cut up nice. I let her kill her first one, like she was going to let it go?
We had fun and dig some clams Saturday and then headed home. Since the river has come down it has been great fishing! All the reports I am getting are from the hatchery area, since the water came up all the fish shot up to there.
