Preston,
I hate to see any post go unanswered. Unfortunately, I do not know too much about the lewis river. I mainly fish for steelhead in the Columbia, and I know they're starting to get fish on the main rivers off of the columbia (still quite a few where I live!). Wish I could be of more help!

Daybreak park has some nice water. But, if you are just starting steelhead fishing i would fish the meat hole on the north fork, a lot more fish there. Also a lot more people, pay attention to where and what they are using. it will get you into a fish a lot quicker. Have fun or try the Kalama my favorite.

Also you can fish in Lewisville park, the access is easy and it's a big park. Another spot to access the north fork is at Happa boat ramp. The Kalama might be an option too if your looking for the smaller river experience. Keep your eye out for what other anglers are doing and where they are fishing, but don't overlook opportunities in the less pressured water either. If you are bank angling just keep moving and cover as much water as possible. Most anglers in the area drift fish for steelhead but spinner fishing can be fun and productive too. Good luck and have fun!
