Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

How did everybody do on the metal heads. We fished mostly above wells dam area. We had about 5 die hards that fished it from Oct. till the end of Dec. Had our best day with 18 to the boat with 7 keepers. the keepers were hard to come by. Many days with teens to the boat with less then 4 keepers. Like to hear about your fishing this year. Picture of our best day.

About the same results, also fished Lake Pateros for the most part and caught lots of numbers but the size was definitely down. Of course I caught almost all of mine while fishing for smallies :)

I was thinking that i have to get back up there in the spring and try for smallies. Is it pretty good? Fished a lot on roosevelt for smallies but never on lake pateros.

It has less fish but better quality than Lake Roosevelt. Typically takes a twenty pound bag to win a tourney. Very important to not keep the big boys because the population is limited and it doesn't take much to hurt it. A guy can also run up the Okanogan and catch a ton of fish that are smaller with the occasional pig.

Thanks for the info. Ya I've heard people talk about the Okanogan, how you can catch lots of fish, just never fished it. Need to try new spots this year. Fished mostly billie clab, banks and roosevelt last year. Always eager to try new waters. Have you ever caught many walleye in Pateros or the Okanogan.

I've never caught one in the Okanogan but have caught some very nice ones in the river. That being said I've only caught three this winter which is way below normal. Also not a huge population but nice fish. I know Rod Hammons the guide caught an 8 1/2 pounder a couple of weeks ago. He has them dialed in pretty good as that is how he started his guide service.

Thats good to know. Ive been up to rufus and nobody is catching walleye. Not sure what is going on. Ive heard that they are catching some on lake roosevelt around Lincoln but don't no the water that good. Just have to go exploring I guess.

Just talked to Ron again today and he caught and 11 1/2 pounder. It is a pig for Rufus. He is supposed to email me a picture. If he does I'll post it.
