Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I'd like to welcome Alpha Angler Rods as the newest site sponsor here on WAFISH. I have been using Alpha Angler Rods for the last couple of years and can honestly say that Jake Boomer and his team have come up with the best custom performance fishing rods I have ever used - My favorites are the DSR dropshot rod that is hands down the best dropshot rod I've ever fished, along with the FrogZilla rod thats great for not just frogging, but also all around use, and the new "Fluker" rod specifically designed for soft plastic jerkbaits which helped Chad and I to our recent win on the river a couple weeks ago.

Once you get your hands on an Alpha Angler rod, you will notice the difference in the balance and attention to detail. There's really nothing else out there like it. Check them out at www.alphaangler.com and next time you see me ask to check one out, I'm sure to have a few in the boat at any given time.

The Mother Fluker is definately a man's spinning rod. been having alot of fun with it lately. It is definately a rod that can handle big fish. Dont let the name fool you though.., you can use it for alot of applications such as small swimbaits, and tubes. At first I wasnt sure about it, but I put a 35 series reel on it and it threw the balance off. Changed reels back to a 25 size and its great.

The rebound is the other AA I have. Very versatile rod that excells with rattle-traps, but for me works great with chatterbaits and diving crankbaits. I want to get another so I can use it for spooks and other moving baits. Very sensitive with a great parabolic action. Not a noodle though. Perfect to me.

Alpha Angler takes care of the customer and ensures satisfaction in my experience.

I bought the Alpha Angler Rebound rod just to take to Divisionals this last spring on the Columbia river because I had never caught a bass on a rattle trap and I had only thrown one a couple of times in my life.  I heard from people I trust that this rod is the deal for lipless baits.  It is THE DEAL! I caught 6 Smallmouth over 3.5lb on this during the tournament and I had none jump off. Paired it with a Daiwa Tatula HD 7:1 and 12lb mono.  I have no doubt when I got to throw plugs in the later summer and fall this rods will do that exceptionally well too. If you have held or fished with most fiberglass rods before and you are not a larger individual you know it gets a bit taxing. I have never held a more balanced and light in the hand fiberglass rod.
