FERNDALE -- Aet But and Thongpun But topped the field by nearly 10 pounds with a five-fish limit of 22.7 pounds to win Borderline Bassin' Contenders' 2017 season opener April 8 at Lake Terrell.

David Atwood and Brandon Levy took second place with three fish for 13.36 pounds. Aaron Weinberg and Tyler Wasilewski took third place with three fish for 11.66 pounds, including the big fish of the tournament at 6.26 pounds.

Anglers experienced strong winds and light to moderate rain that created tough conditions for almost all anglers. Aet But and Thongpun But said they found a school of offshore fish to land their winning bag.
