BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Matt Krumdiack and wife Kristine Krumdiack took first place in Borderline Bassin' Contenders' annual Lake Whatcom Spring Open with a fish-fish limit of 19.10 pounds of smallmouth bass on April 22.

Bill Smith and Ron Helvey took second with a limit of 18.96 pounds, followed by Ron Hobbs and Jonas Pettit with a limit of 18.82 pounds.

Choi But and Tha Khun caught the big fish of the tournament at 5.24 pounds.
Anglers experienced classic spring weather, with sunshine and glass-calm water followed by strong winds and white caps.
