Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

To all

Once again Jeff and Kathy Priester along with Kent Brown did a phenomenal job of presenting the 7th annual Nixon’s Marine Invitational on Moses Lake.  While fishing was tough both days, the lake once again pumped out some outstanding weights.  Results can be found on Nixon’s face book page and on their web site.  Congratulations to all that fished and to all that made the day two cut.   And---yes---Congratulations to Aaron and Davey for another incredible win.

The Rest of the Story

Having said this, I believe that the real story of the weekend belongs to Ron Jr. and to Mike Wolsky.  Ron and Mike earned the second starting position on day two of the competition with a weight just at 25 pounds.  Pretty impressive indeed.    However, what is even more impressive and few people realize,  is that they gave up their second seat start to help another angler that was having mechanical problems!    As highly competitive as day two is in this event, Ron and Mikes actions went beyond that of just fishing hard, being competitive and reaping the rewards. These guys truly demonstrated the characteristics of the Champions they are and the Champions that we all strive to be.  I love this sport and while not everything is perfect with in it, the actions of Mike and Jr. give me renewed  hope and energy. Additionally and honestly, those two clowns made my tournament.  Well Done Gentlemen.

One more thing---To Shawn and to DJ.    In canals---really all I was trying to do is bring you guys waffles, eggs and  beacon!    Donuts.

Awesome! Thanks for pointing this out Gary. Ron and Mike have always been class acts and it doesn't surprise me to hear they stayed back to help another angler. I think overall we have a pretty tight knit community here and it's something to be proud of.

Hoping to make this one next year to mix things up!

Ron and Mike are definitely two of the guys younger anglers such as myself should strive to be like. They are dedicated to the sport and fiercely competitive but at the same time just all around good guys that always seem willing to help. Im proud those two are at the head of our bass fishing community right now representing our sport.
Having received help from these guys in the past during a tournament it doesn't surprise me at all...they are class acts and great representatives of our sport

Definately a couple of very selfless people when it really matters.

Hats off to you, gentlemen!  Very commendable, yet not at all surprising.  Great sportsmen and incredible anglers.

Sounds like some awfully good fishing karma going into tomorrow's event....I predict a big bag!
