Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I had a good chat this morning with Bruce Baker of the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and he said the single barbless hook restriction for Lake Sammamish is no more. We also spoke about tournaments being held there and he clarified that clubs must also get a permit from the state park in order to hold an event there.

Tight lines,

Thanks Russ

A club fish-in is an event. Are the permit fees from us small time bass clubs going to have a real positive impact to the parks budget? They don't allow us to tail gate some chilli dogs at the launch. Boats on trailers not allowed at the picnic area? Why are we allowing the state to deny us equality in the usage of our state park?

Unfortunately Rodney the State Park folks at Lake Sammamish can't stand us holding tournaments there as they say it ties up the docks. Now you and I both know that there are more people tying up docks there by parking their boats for longer periods of time than any tournament venue. It frustrates me as well.

Our dollars spent there are just the same as everyone else.
