Those fish are soo ugly, that is awesome.  All those ribs-fins-whiskers, what a prehistoric pig.  Never got one on a tube, but we caught one on a senko like that in Mexico.  Soo ugly, good job!

I'm sorry about the expensive lure tragedy part, but that story is awesome! What body of water did you poke this big kitty cat on? Promise I won't poach your catfish hole, just curious.

Awesome story Jake ,

This Reminded me of a few fish that fooled me once while i was chuncking crankbaits down in TN . haha

On on same note , remind me one day to tell you the story about the crankbit fish that i thought was grass carp which turned out to be a massive Smallmouth ..lol  Fishing is just fact out fun at times brother...

Story: i "tie" on a $50 handmade bait I found in a maw-pop shop down in so-cal. 2nd cast it gets blown up and subsequently broken off by a fairly pedestrian smallmouth. To mitigate future financial loss, I tie on a tube jig. God is a prankster after all, as the state record smallmouth I have on magically turns into a channel catfish. I cpr it, then head immediately back to the ramp to nullify future dissapointments. The end.
