Comment by Ryan Perrey on November 3, 2012 at 10:46am Chris, That rod is on my radar as well as an 807! Thanks for the feed back.
Comment by Chris Blandi on November 3, 2012 at 7:04am AND my first Dobyn's rod, so needless to say I won't hesitate to buy another, in any configuration.
Comment by Chris Blandi on November 3, 2012 at 7:02am If you like the 806, you need to buy a backup rod, and make it a Mag 867. From what I understand it was mostly designed and tuned by Matt Allen. The 867's been out for a few months but he's had his hands on one for at least a year. I can honestly say it's the best SB rod I've used so far, in my 5 something yrs of throwing them.
Comment by Ryan Perrey on October 28, 2012 at 6:56pm Thanks guys! Joel, the 806 is Fantastic!!! It's super light and very powerful. I am still amazed how sensitive it is. Both of those fish hit the hudd so hard I first thought I snagged a log then quickly felt every move the fish tried to make and the rod was in full control. The hooks were buried haha.
Awesome...how do you like that dobyns setup?
