Secrets?

Besides specific fishing locations, what information do you think is sacred?  How many things (lures, techniques, patterns, etc) do you know about that you won't share?  Is there one set of info you will share on a message board like this vs. another set of info that you only share with your tournament partner or good buddies?  Or...are there some things you will keep with you to your grave? Are there things you are convinced nobody else knows about or does and you'll be damned if you are going…See More

Pro's?

I've read lots of interesting comments recently about what it means to be a "professional" bass fisherman. What are the qualifications? Money? Proficiency? Time? Talent? Reputation? Tournament results? I knowbetter than to think I can settle the argument of what the word as itapplies to bass fishing means and who qualifies. I will share someinsight into the truth. The truth is that many of the Elite Series pros I fished against in the 2010 Classic would not meet many of your standards of the…See More

Experience....?

The discussion on what it means to be the "best" made me think about this whole experience thing.  I think I was at my best on Potholes the first year or two I fished it.  It seems like I get worse with each year of added experience there.  In fact my best days there are usually with a lure I have never used before, on a section of the lake I have never fished.  Hardly the benefit of any experience.  That's just one example. Now I don't discount time on the water as being important or even the…See More

2010 Bassmaster Classic Experience

A blog on my classic experience won't do it justice, but then again I'm not sure what would or could. In short, it was the single greatest fishing experience of my life. Really, beyond what words can express. So let me just try to recap as best I can what went down. This will probably be long, but trust me, if I were to write about everything I could fill a book.

I arrived in Birmingham on Thursday, Feb. 11th. My good friend and tournament…
