If you had a number one tip to give someone.... what would it be?

My tip, fish with what your confident using. You have more patience when your confident.

New Group: Walleye Fishing

Hi Everyone,

I've had a couple requests for a Walleye group and I listen to the people so there it is. I do however need a killer pic of a big fat Walleye. Anyone have one that I can use to throw up there? I'll pick the best and put it up. Heck, I'll even have a prize to be determined later for whoever gives me the best one by this Friday at 6:00pm.

Game on!!!

What are they?

Yesterday(4-21) My son and I took a trip around some of the lakes in South Pierce

County,no fishing rods, just an excuse to get out on a nice day.

We stopped at Tanwax and walked the dock at the Lakeview Resort.

Brett got my attention by saying "What's dat?" (add a 3 year olds voice)

I first assumed it was some plant debris/pollen but upon a further look,I noticed

they were schooling,so I scooped some up with my hand....Sure enough, they were fish

fry. They were… Continue

That's a $75.00 LURE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Thread for talking about losing lures) Me first!

Well, this is simple story about my line snapping last week and my very expensive Triple Trout flying out in the water.... with that said I also went in the water after it in about 4' of water at a local park in Tacoma. (I was just trying a new real and rod combo) no luck after an hour of freezing my behind off! People were standing around asking my girlfriend what I was doing and saying "look at that crazy white boy!"

It had been worrying me, not only because it was a $75.00 lure… Continue

Time to Up-size

Well the Interstate Battery boat is up For Sale. I bought a 16' Glas-Ply that I will convert to a nice Bass/Bay boat that will be big enough to fish out of and take others out. I am putting a Butt seat on the bow. I am also adding a fishing platform and will put a live-well and storage under there. Then I'll be ready to take a couple of you up on your offers to go out with me and teach an old dog a few new tricks. I took my son and two friends (all… Continue

Lake Sammamish

Hey There!

I am a newbie to smallmouth bass fishing and am heading out to Lake Sammamish on my boat tommorow with my neighbor for our first trip of the season. Can anyone provide any location and technique tips for us? We are anxious to give it a try, we have purchased our tackle at 3-Rivers and attended their bass seminar a few weeks back and have a few ideas but more information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hooks...

I am probably the worst at sharpening and/or replacing dull hooks on my lures. Was fishing Samm yesterday and missed a good hit on an old lipless crank bait. I am sure it was do to the hooks being dull so I thought I should check all of my hooks to give myself the best shot possible in landing my next PB. Hooks are probably a personal preference for most of you but I was hoping to get a little information from you guys as to how often you sharpen or replace your hooks. Also, I am sure there are… Continue

BASS RETENTION PART 2

There seems to be alot of anglers who are upset about the way that the Fish and Wildlife services here are regulating the bass populations in Washington. The problem is that most anglers only express their concerns amongst themselves. This is a nationwide problem. We as sportsman are losing the battle against other animal rights activists due to the fact that they organize themselves and put forth the effort to express their opinions to the right organizations within our local and state… Continue

this time of year

this time of year I find myself fishing one lure and one lure only looking for the big bite, a jig. to be more exact, I fish a jewel jig either peanut butter smoke or peanut butter and jelly with a jewel craw green pumpkin trailer. You have to order the baits directly off their website, or sometimes you can find them at cabellas. What are some favorites of others this time of year?

Another thing to add, why havent any of broken the washington state record yet for a largemouth? This is the… Continue

Clear water doesnt always equal flourocarbon

It might come as a shock to you and the fishing world, but just because the water is gin clear in most lakes this time of year, it doesnt neccessarily mean you have to use a flourocarbon or monofilament line. Now application of your lures, and what rods you are using will dictate if you will be fishing mono, but if you are going to be using anything heavier then 12 lbs test, you might as well just tie on some 65lb power pro. I feel the fish are less line weary due to it being early in the year… Continue

Bass Retention

I fished Lake Terrel on friday and after a good day on the water I was leaving the launch and a bank fisherman had about a 6 pound largemouth attached to his stringer and he was excited for his next meal. I stopped the truck and discouraged him from keeping this fish because it takes some time for them to grow to that size, he then answered in very stern words and pretty much told me to get lost, at this time I made a hard decision and walked away and kept telling myself that what he was doing… Continue

Got the skunk off!

Finally got the skunk off. I left him on Lake Tapps and will be back in December to pick him up for the winter. Only got two bites, both from the same fish. Gotta remember to set the hook. Picked him up in 3 feet of water, temps in the low 50's mostly. Only had a short time on the water, but I'll be back for more soon! He went 2.5lbs and was hungry for a new a Daquiri.…

Spring fishing on Mayfield Lake

I'm heading to Mayfield Lake Easter weekend. I know that it's early for Muskies but I'm going to try. Also has anyone had early Spring success for bass or trout. Any tips and locations would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

1st Tiger Muskie School a wild success!

Last Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 PM Sumner; open to all anglers:

I don't know who had more fun: The Chapter volunteers who worked so hard to put on a good show, or the big crowd who came to learn from the Northwest and Midwest's BEST!

Larry Ramsell was one of a kind; what experience and what a memory; worth the wait to finally get to meet him. He is as awesome and as genuine off the water as he is on.

Kudos to Muskie School… Continue

Potholes Open - 30th Annual

I'm looking forward to this great bass tournament again this year. I love the way it's run. Non-competitive and fun. The camaraderie is the best and the crew that's put it on the last ?30 years are great.
I'll be heading over this Sat and Sun for some early season pre-fishing and some walleye fishing while we're there. Craig is going with me this weekend.
Anyone else fishing this event?
Anyone going to be there this weekend?

Smallies in Mayfield

There's not a lot of them but what I've caught a real nice ones. I've netted a few for other anglers in my boat also. Some of the good ones have come on musky spinnerbaits and bucktails but I've targeted them this early with soft plastics and caught some nice ones. My best at Mayfield is 4lb 2oz.
Anybody else fish smallies at Mayfield? How do you fish for them?
