I had a decent year this year for my second year of bassin'. I think i did pretty well at about 45 fish, give or take a few. My biggest fish of the year was about a 3.5 lber out of Liberty lake in the late summer. I only began bassin' last year, and have caught close to 100 bass this whole time, averaging about 2-5 bass per trip. I really only hit the lakes close to Spokane here, such as Liberty, Long(spokane), Newman, Silver, Clear lake, Roosevelt, etc. I love these lakes around here and think… Continue

WAFISH in 2010

Hi everyone,

with 2010 winding down, I am curious to know a few things for the future of this site:

1. What is it that you like best about this site?

2. What is it you least like about this site?

3. What would you like to see added in 2010?

This site has been up for a year now and I want to make sure it continues to get better and grow.

I look forward to hearing your feedback and making the appropriate… Continue

Draft of "Understanding Bass Behavior Will help you be a much better fisherman" maybe going in my book

Start to better understand Bass Behavior, or how a bass reacts to their environment. This will start to put you in the right frame of mind and give you a starting place even before you get to the lake. So you need to understand the forces that drive a bass to do what they do. I like to put it in this term: Think like a bass. What are the driving forces that effect what the bass are doing? Like what is the basic focus of a bass? Things like: the spawn, food, territory, security, weather,… Continue

Tying Rabbit Fur Jigs

Its wintertime and that means it's jig time, but not for just steelhead, these work well for bass too! I've fished steelhead and salmon with floats and jigs for as long as I can remember and have been tying my own jigs for almost as long. The following is a tutorial of how to tie one of the easiest most effective jigs for steelhead, salmon, trout, and even bass... the rabbit fur jig.

Start by securing your jighead in your vice as even as possible and wrap your thread back until its… Continue

I would like to hear from anyone who was in attendance on Saturday at the WDFW Commission Meeting.

I would like to hear from anyone who was in attendance on Saturday at the WDFW Commission Meeting. I was there on Friday and got to speak against the Lead Ban, I was the first person to speak. Most of the other speakers were there to speak out about other subjects but hopefully I enlightened them about a new threat to our sport, the purposed Ban on Lead tackle items. There were about 53 other people there to speak.

How many people spoke out against the Lead Ban? Was there anyone from the… Continue
