If Ron got 10% of all the 893's sold in this state he'd be a rich man!

So true Chad! Hobbs talked to me about that rod at one of the three rivers seminars
i use an AR-15 then dive for the lead. after i retrieve all the lead i make my own footballs. i know this is a little eccentric but i think it adds a little character to my unpainted jigs heads. i use a 3/0 gamagatsu jig hook and put nothing else on the jig other than a Yamamoto 176 super grub. i know that is about as boring as this stuff can get but i had to tone it down a bit after my 50 cal bushmaster knocked my sh*t right off the G-damn boat.

What time does the liquor store open Dan? Now I see why you wanted to spend more time on your golf game! I didn't realize bass fishing could screw with a man's head like that....

keep making good baits,

chad

Rod : Dobyns DX744 champion extreme series (my favorite Rod) :-)

Reel : Quantum PT Tour (burner series) 7.0:1 ratio

Line : 12lb  FC Sniper

JigHead : 3/4 ~ 1oz hand pour Leadhead 3/0 heavywire hook

Bait : twintail grubs mostly

I use a loomis senko rod. With an oldschool shimano curado 201 reel
Then I pour my own football heads some with rattles. In the spring and summer months I use 3/8 & 1/2 oz.but in the fall and winter its 3/4 & 1 oz. I use mainly owner hooks in a 3/0 to 5/0 but I use gamakatsu's as well. My line that I have the most confedence in is p-line halo in a 6 to 10 lb test
as for bait I use smallie beavers and sweet beavers in a california 420, roadkill, and green pumpkin.
I also use sniper j-fac craws and trigger craws. And a large assortment of yamamoto grubs of all sizes and colors.

I'm guessing Ryan is using either the BCR893 or BCR864, I use both as well, I really like the extra length I get with the 7'5" senko rod but I like the stouter side of the 7'2" 864 also a senko rod.  Both these rods put the nuts to the fish, when using skirted jigs like skinny bear jigs or any football head with a weed guard I opt for the 864 unless the jig head is lighter than 1/2 oz than I will stay with the 894.

Rods:GLX BCR893,BCR864, BSR842(3/8oz and smaller)

Reels: Abu Revo Premier, Daiwa Zillion 7.3:1, Daiwa Sol 2500

Line: As of right now it goes 12# Abrz-x, 15# abrz X and 10# power pro to 8 # abraz x.

Jigheads: standard jig heads with a good hook, I try to keep away from any hook with a round bend for smallies the 111 series from gamkatsu is great, and the style of hook that skinny bear uses is awesome as well.

Baits: anything that will stay on the jig, I experiment with all kinds of stuff, put hula skirts on any bait imaginable but I really like to make my own hula grubs, I like to shorten big double tails down than add a double skirt, seemed to work well for me this year, this gives the fish something way different to look at.

Just a thought......I don't like a skirt around my beaver. I prefer just strait up beaver! It's easier to penetrate when there is less in the way.
You probably don't use long enough rod for penetrate adequately.
