Big congratulations on the W, Jake and Tim.  That is a Potholes Summer mule of epic proportions.  I'm pretty convinced that the tournament could have been a week long and that stud of a fish would have held up for the duration.  Nice work, gents!

It was early enough in the morning that I don't even remember if I'd made my first cast of the day yet when I heard JB wrestling that gorilla to the boat.  You know it's a stud when you can tell by the sound of it porpoising that it's a tournament winner.  If I'm gonna get whooped by anyone before 5 am, I'm glad it's Jake!  Ha ha...

Well done again, boys!

+1   awesome fish guys.

I loved walking to the scales with a pretty decent fish--literally rounded the stage corner--saw Boomer--and heard Baker say 7.15lb largie!!!  I wasn't even disappointed. I was more in awe of what a pig that is for July at Potholes.

Everything about that fish was weird.  I wrote about it on Hogue's blog as it calls into question many rules of thumb I have in tournament fishing.  http://gameoverangling.com/one-didnt-get-away-twice/

Anyways, thanks for the props fellas.  Hats off to Russ for having such an awesome payout at the event.  When he announced the value at the driver's meeting, I could see some guys get blood in their eyes!!!

Nice write up Jake, thats a giant

Excellent article, Jake.  Looking forward to reading more future content as well.

Don, the site is pretty darn impressive already.  Hats off to you and everyone involved.

Jake Congratulations and thanks for sharing the story!
