Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Looking at the extended forecast for Moses Lake/Othello, it's not looking good for the April 6th & 7th NW Bass. Rumor has it that Potholes still has 8" of ice and Banks has 12". What's your thoughts?

Dana,

Looks like the warm up is coming mid 40's all next week, some wind on Tuesday/ Wed I'm thinking we should be out boating around in two weeks. The problem might be getting way back in the dunes, alot of that ice is sheltered and may take a little more time or some bigger wind events to open it up! the NW Bass guys might be fishing the main reservoir only and the big bag will be mostly smallies if they don't cancel it.

It would be interesting to see what guys do if there is still some ice around.  Be a real test for all, id like to see what the heavy hitters can produce with tough conditions.

I hope you're right about the ice coming off. I see the day time temps are projected into the 40's but the night time temps are still showing in the low to mid 20's for another week. We definitely need some wind and rain, I don't think sunshine alone is going to get the job done.

This week's weather wont help...

Snowing here now Steiner. Looks like about another 3 or 4 inches.

Maybe we can change the format. We can all strap an ice auger on our back, line up at the ramp and take off running to our spots for blastoff. At my age and bad knees, this would be like drawing the last boat out of the last flight. I sure hope Steve can still run faster than I can. Maybe he can get the first couple of holes drilled by the time I arrive.

I see you are aerial pre-fishing again.

NWB tournament on Potholes has been rescheduled for the weekend of April 13th & 14th. The decision was made for the safety of it's participants, do to the remaining ice still on the reservoir. I realize this was a tough decision and is going to create some A$$ burn for some. It's really tough to manage tournaments in this state when the big three (Potholes/Banks/Tri-Cities) draw all the attention. I personally respect this decision by the NWB organization. I'm sure the fine folks that operate the Potholes Open will have a different opinion.
