Mr. Douchet,

Excellent job on the river!  For those of you who weren't there, Jordan snatched the victory away from all of us 'river rats,' with the help of a big brutis largie.

I personally thought the tournament was tough!!  I would have rather not pre-fished this one, because the water levels were so different from one week to the next that it looked and acted like an entirely different body of water.  The lower river was chocolate milk, and the upper river had sagebrush in 5 feet of water!  I couldn't adjust and only wound up with 10lbs, and probably ran 140 miles in my boat.  Good job Jordan, and to the others who did well, my hats off to you!

I did get a 9lb Steelhead up in the clear water, so the tournament wasn't a complete disaster. Just adds to my huge list of fish I've caught while bass fishing this year! Prefishing I caught a carp in the mouth, and a 7lb walleye both on 6lb test with my lightest dropshot rod.
hell we fished clean water all day and we couldn't figure them out this time.
our day started that way from last boat out at blast off to leaving one of the straps hooked to boat from trailer when trying to launch.. i couldn't figure out how i wasn't bumping him off the trailer being most of the truck was in the water.... LOL
again great job to c-ride and jordan!

We did the same thing Chad. After we left we went up river and found clear water as well. You were right however about the fish being gone from the beds and they were boxed up. I watched somone we all know put 3 or 4 good ones in his livewell while we were there. Those fish moved up and made beds quickly because that water wasn't even there until Wednesday. Ironically the only fish I caught came from under Rider's boat as he and Jordan were pulling away. I think that place is going to come uncorked this week. I am hoping to go back down there this weekend.

Dirty water? You must of been fishing by us! Oh wait you were....we ran up river after we talked, and found a slough with crystal clear water, but all my fish on beds were either caught or gone. This is two years in a row this has happened with the water coming way up for the tournament. It's hard to adjust with no prefish experience in the same conditions. It's to bad conditions didn't stay the same from the previous weekend, because we all would have all had limits by 6am in that slough! Congrats Jordan and Chris, at least you guys figured out you needed to get out of that spot early. Nice 5lb smallie Mike!

We did the same thing Marc. Our first spot was dirty as hell. I caught a 2 and a 3+ in the first few minutes and gained that same false confidence. We had no contingency plan for dirty water and barely got 5 fish.

Congratulations Jordan and Chris! What a bag, and nice Mama Pesce! I only wish you were in a different flight so we could have won big bass with Mike's 5+ smallie.

We gambled we could catch a mixed bag ourselves, but we didn't count on the Snake getting blown out. Nonetheless, Mike stuck his big smallie on the first spot we fished on the Snake which gave us false confidence we could get a few more bites, and finish up with 2 largemouths. The falling water shut down our largemouth bite, after only getting one, so we ended up short of even getting a limit. At least we had fun finally getting to fish a tourney in nice weather.

ciao,
Marc
Jordan & Chris good work! That largie was a toad! Me and my partner blanked. This was our 2nd NW bass tourney we had never fished the Columbia so we grabbed a map and prefished 2 weeks ago got some good smallies one was 4.5 lbs we had a couple nice spots down river from the snake but those spots were no good for us tourney day with the conditions. I wish we would have ran way up river near john day but our map said dangerous navigation. Still had a good day in the sun and 80degree weather!
Alright Joel, here's the story:

Chris and I had worked the same shoreline back and forth 6 times and caught a few fish in the process. Well after a couple passes and no fish, I decided to switch baits and on my second cast my bait got hung up on a rock. I jerked on it twice and it didn't come loose so I did the snap trick to shoot line back at it and it came undone. I pulled the bait out a couple feet and let it sink again. About a second later, my line took off into the weeds. I set the hook and it was game on. This fish took me out deep into the weeds than back up into about 1 foot of water waking the surface, than back into the deep then finally to the boat. Chris and I proceeded to dance around the boat like little school girls for about 5 minutes after.

Jordan that is a PIG! Lets here the story behind that one please. I could only imagine how stoked you were catching a largie like that in a NWB tourney=)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the props. The entire day went exactly to plan and it was definitely one of those days when we could do no wrong. We caught fish dropshotting, throwing senkos and punching matted reeds. Also nice work to Mike Wolsy for weighing that monster bag by himself and to Echternkamp and Kromm for yet another consistent catch.

Here are a few pics we took after weigh in:

Catching a fish that big in a tourney is pretty awesome.

Whats up with that???
Way to go Jordan and Rider I have been on vacation but I heard about it. After seeing the pic now that thing is a monster and in competition it's like a dream come true. Props to Wolsky for the solo showing as well!
Whoops, my bad. I guess I don't know Chris Rider and I wasn't thinking about hurting anyone's feelings. However, we all know these are team tournaments and props should go just as much to Chris Rider!

No offense taken, I knew it was a mistake. Guess thats what I get for being a frenchy... lol
What's up with the girl wig you are wearing in your pic J-Dawg?

Also, I haven't read the results but someone told me that some dude named Trollsky or something took 2nd fishing alone. That's pretty impressive.

Congrats Jordan and Chris, way to step up and get it done. Nice toad!! was it post spawn?
It's finally soaked in so now I can post some stuff about our win. It was a day that we could do no wrong. I had pre fished the week before while Jordan was catching those Monster Montana Bass at the TBF. I found a few spots with smallies locked on beds. There was one spot that had solid 2.5-3.0 lb ers, and there was a bunch of them. The other spots had less fish but they were much bigger, 3.5-4.0 lbs. So we had a plan A and B, depending on our draw. We drew really bad so we decided that our spot that had the big ones was probably taken. We headed for the spot with the most fish and figured we would just nose in and hopefully stick a few smaller ones and just get a med size bag started. We got to the spot only to find that it was muddy water and a few feet higher. We fished for about an hour or so and got one. We decided it was time to make a move and head to the spot with bigger fish, hoping that nobody was on em. We rolled into the spot and there was a boat there but they were fishing it way wrong. So we nosed in and put on a clinic. We caugh 4 really nice fish in about 15 minutes. The last one we got was frickin crazy. I decided to put some sunblock on. The kind that sprays. So I casted my dropshot out and set the rod on the deck. I started to spray my face and completely maced my self. My eyes were burning. I heard my rod skipping across the deck and reached down to grab it before it went overboard and when I lifted the rod it pulled back so I set on it and there was a fish 3.5 lbs! So we talked and decided we had a good 16lbs or so and it was time to swing for the fence. I have a really good Largemouth spot that we have fished for years. I have caught some huge ones there before. So we said lets go for it. It was a long run but we needed a kicker. We rolled into the spot and right away started to see some cruisers. We worked the area for a while with nothing. Then jordan busted a nice smallie where we were seeing the Green. Couldn't complain about that at all. So we kept with it and I threw in to a spot that we kept seeing a nice green. I got wacked and it was a good Green. The bite was on! I had seen a huge green one when we first rolled into the spot. We went past it again and Jordan flipped into an area that was close to the spot. He got hung up on the bottom and snapped his line to free it. In the mean time I was dickin around with a rod and not paying attention. I looked up and all I saw was a giant Bass with its mouth wide open and it was coming towards the boat. Jordan didn't even say a word. I think he was pooping himself about that time. So we had about a 3-4 minute Rodeo and when I got her in the net we both started the dancing around the boat and high 5ing. By now it was only 11:30 or so . We decided that we had enough to win and we needed to get back to the launch area and camp out. The only thing that would mess us up was a mechanical break down. So we put in on cruise control and head to the launch. We fished around the launch for about 4 hours , the longest 4 hours ever! We thought we had about 22 lbs but those smallies had spawned out and lost some weight. And thats the story.... Then we headed to Moses to finish off a great weekend. There is a cool pic of Jordan,Nick,Chad, Sonny and myself with some really nice bass from that day that I posted.
