Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I have personally taken on the task of trying to get the WDFW to remove largemouth restrictions of only weighing one largemouth on Banks & Long Lake for the months of May and June and finally have succeeded in making this happen.

So you now can weigh 5 largemouth bass during a tournament on these two lakes.

Awesome! Way to go Russ. This was a long time coming and I am happy to hear this has been lifted.

Its taken me two years to do this. So persistence does pay off if folks get involved in fighting for what is right for bass fisherman as well as tournament anglers. Confirmed this morning with Bruce Baker.

I know nothing of these lakes, and I'm no biologist, but it seems tourney fishing for spawning lmb is a little controversial in lakes with moderately small populations. It seems lmb populations on the Columbia suggest it's no issue.

Would it make sense to write a law that says you are required to run lmb back to the areas of origin after weigh in?

And I liked the trophy.
