OK, I will start. Nice job idiots, don't we have enough special interest groups trying to take away our sport and passion? Now you dumb ASSES have to bring more negative publicity to our sport! I bet your sponsors are celebrating tonight!

I don't know much about Poche, but I think Ish is a cocky S.O.B.  He just kind of rubs me the wrong way.  I'm not saying this was his fault, as there is a mixture of opinions about who over reacted.  Regardless, like Dana stated, this is something we do not need in our sport.

+1 on Ish.

Unfortunately, this wont be much of a black eye. Nobody outside our own will ever hear about this.

One thing is for sure... You dont ever board another vessel. That said all sports have some fisticuffs from time to time. Except golf.
I witnessed a hostile ish Monroe first hand during a western open on the river back in 99 or 2000. He was a cocky s.o.b back then and was rude and obnoxious to everyone that wasn't from California. I even herd him pull the race card out after a competitor threatened to go to the officials about a confrontations ......that was before he went to the elites. I'm not taking sides but from my experience, I would have to lean towards poche on this one. I'm sure there was mutual responsibility though.

Wrong, already been covered by the local televised news in Florida.

You are right Dana. Some people have heard about it. Let me re-phrase. Nobody who sees it, outside our sport will give a rip.

I think this sport, especially at the higher levels has quite a bit of controversy.  I just think the playing field keeps most of it away from the viewers.  Last year, Ike and Vandam got into it on camera, and BASS could have left it in the cutting room...  but they didn't.  It falls under the theory "never let a good tragedy go to waste."  I'm sure the amount of traffic on bassmaster.com is quite a bit higher than usually generated with an Open event in January.

I loved watching the interviews with Greg Hackney during the Angler of the Year Championship last fall.  The dude was an emotional wreck (probably took 10 years off his lifespan.)  He commented many times that there is no other sport with the massive highs and lows like tournament bass fishing.  I tend to agree.  Take all that competitive juice, passion and emotion and cram it into a tiny 18-boat lock with two hot-headed anglers....  Now you've got "made-for-tv" type stuff.  I bet BASS wishes they had a camera boat in there.

I personally refrain from passing judgment on the character of said individuals...  mostly cause I can't say I am immune to the excitement generated from this sport.  We all make mistakes (stupid as they may seem), and all need forgiveness at some point.

I bet Hobbs is "Shocked" to hear this news about Ish ....lol

I hope they suspend them both.  Publicly, so everyone knows not to be a dumb-ass.

Then... they should design a sponsor decal for their jersey's and their boats that say "I am a baby" and make them both sport the new look for one Elite tournament on camera!

I'm guessing this wasn't what B.A.S.S. had in mind when they wanted to be like NASCAR.

Sorry, won't sell my integrity for a tournament win! Maybe just another reason some of the fun and enjoyment has been lost. There was a day that tournament anglers cherished a forgotten word called RESPECT, TV ratings or not.
