Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Hit it up for large mouth the last couple weeks but no luck so far. Tried fishing deep with drop shot to no avail, tried a hula grub and a 3/4 oz football head dragging the bottom, still nothing, fished some log laydowns with a grub and beaver tail, fished a couple points with it as well but no dice, slow rolled spinnerbaits around some of the deeper docks, threw some deep crank baits, and tried throwing suspending jerk baits in the shallows, nothing was working. I might try some swim baits this weekend as I've heard its got some quality fish in it but I can't seem to buy a bite there. Water temp seems like it should be moving the fish from the deeper water but I've fished from deep centers all the way to the shallows where the creeks enter and agent seem a fish yet... any one got any helpful hints to share about this lake or possibly other lakes around the area I should be giving a shot?

I fished Beaver lake last summer with good success for large mouth. I was throwing weightless senko's, maybe only 3" senko in the pads. Caught a 2 pound large mouth and several 1 pound somethings. Nothing huge but lots of fun.  Probably caught 8 or 9 total. I haven't tried spring yet but intend to soon. I'm sure there are some larger bass in there,  you just need to find em and figure out what they want. I plan to use larger baits this spring and summer to see what's what.

Beaver is my home waters and its tough and very finicky for fish early in the year. it seems to move at a slower pace then other lakes and the fish seem to act the same. Stealth is key there early season as they are very spooky when they first start to pull up.

I was there last Sunday i got one 3 pound largemouth and a 2 pounder they were both in one foot of water. I caught them both on a black and blue jig.

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I'm going to head up there on Sunday morning and try fishing the shallows a bit with some jigs or try throwing a swim bait in amongst all the little trout they planted.  nice to hear they're starting to really get into some shallow water. Now if the weather would just cooperate...

Went out today and picked up 3 on an olive jig with a smallie beaver as a trailer, biggest fish was a hair over 2 lbs. What size fish come out of this lake? Ive heard rumors of some absolute pigs coming out of here but nothing first hand from anyone that's catching them. I know they plant it with small rainbows so the food is available and therefore the potential for some fish to become monsters but nothing substantial to back up this theory

Those rumor's apply to every lake.  Time on the water, knowledge, presentation, and bait selection will up your odd's on size.

Decided to go again yesterday, caught one in the 3 lb range and one around 8 inches, both on a jig with a 4 Inch craw trailer. The little guy had aspirations of greatness I guess. Both were largemouth. I also had a good sized fish follow a spinnerbait back to the boat but wouldn't commit.
