lol fair price from dealer they have overhead boss! I wouldn't take my advice but this time of year bad time to buy a boat wait till end of season and buy off someone getting ready to upgrade or had a bad year. Good deals are hard to find but if you have cash and are patient it will happen. (Banks will finance boats in or out of dealership)

Don't buy a used boat from a dealer, search craigslist, be patient and one will find you

Give them your ideal price and be prepared to walk away. You never know how low they are willing to go on a used boat. Also, like others have said, be patient.

I got scared and bought new. Best decision ever.

"Fair"? - Fuck I hate that word. NOTHING is "fair" to every person.

Is it "fair" that Josh Potter is prettier than Mike Bess?

Is it "fair" that almost everyone I know is smarter than Mike Bess?

Is it "fair" that I have never made the cut at the Nixon's Moses Lake Tournament?

No - but that's life. If you like the deal do it, and don't bitch about it - if you don't like the deal, don't do it and don't bitch about it.

FAIR IS A PARTICIPATION TROPHY....show me someone who want's a participation trophy and I'll show you a loser!

First of all fair is in the eye of the beholder in this case. If everyone gets screwed by a dealership then how would it be "fair" for you to be treated otherwise. In other words, if you get a "deal" from a dealership the rest of us might view that as "unfair" because we paid full price.

Maybe the term reasonable was what you were looking for?

Getting philosophical up in here

Check westernbass.com's classifieds there are lots of good used boats for sale if your willing to drive a little ways. Hope your insurance took care of you with the damage to your boat.
Bingo. I think the key to mutually agreeable situation is going to the dealer after doing homework and getting educated on the market value of the boat. (Ie. what is your desired boat currently selling for in your area.)

Then you negotiate with the dealer for a price that works for you, and in my opinion you should hope and be happy that the dealer profits too.
