Washington Fishing

I have been advised to add 2 times the prescribed amount of ethanol treatment to 87 octane  , E10 regular gasoline for use in a 2004, 4 stroke, 90 HP  Yamaha.

What brand treatment are you guys using in your engines to avoid problems with ethanol?

How long can I leave treated gas in the tank without problems?

I get all my gas at the Snohomish Co-Op Fred. Ethanol free there!

Pure-gas.org lists stations in Washington that sell ethanol free fuel.

I've been selling StarTron for the last 3 years.  Seems to be good stuff.  Walmart is the cheapest place to get it.  When I called to complain about how low their retail price was (compared to mine), I could hear the sales guy just shaking his head.  They sell it like $.10 over cost.

As far as mix ratios...I'd never go over the label ratio...ever.  Depending on the brand of treatment, some are alcohol based, and that will cause low BTU's in the combustion chamber, not to mention other unforeseeable issues.

Remember, you can't FIX ethanol, but you can help "lesson" the damage a bit.  The alcohol will always be there no matter what you add to it.

Remember too...if you buy alcohol free gas, in the wintertime, add a suitable fuel stabilizer to it if you're not running your motor monthly.
