2x4, 3/4" plywood, some nails, water sealer, and carpet. Shouldn't take long at all, carpet won't match likely though. But it'd get the job done
Ranger? Ranger made aftermarket parts like what you are looking for. My 1990 Ranger had such a part. Call around to boat shops to see if they have any laying around. If they do remind them that the carpet will not match, help them make you a deal.
Very simple. No 2x4s, no nails. Use sealer on the few screws that are used. I used 1" or 2" aluminum angle in 4 places, a couple hinges, carpet. For the deck I used 1" aluminum honeycomb from the Boeing surplus store-that isn't there anymore-so most likely you'll have to use marine plywood.
The hinges make it so you can raise it to get to the stuff underneath easier, and for cleaning when it gets dirty.
I'd show you how I did mine, but I don't have any pictures of it. Let me know what town you live close to, if close enough I can show you.
Oh, you are in Everett, I'm south of Seattle. I'll have to take some pictures some time if you want.
I'll take some pictures today, too hot for now. lol Just got home from Sammamish so am still cooling off for another bit.
edit: pictures taken, now to see about being able to PM pictures or e-mail them to you.
Yes, in person is usually the best way to see and figure out how something is done or can be done. If you plan on fishing Sammamish or Washington, or even Sawyer or Meridian, :-) some time soon, let me know and I can meet you somewhere.
It is actually 1 1/4" al. angle for the support brackets, plus the long partition wall on the right, been 20 plus years since I installed the deck and such. lol And you could use long/full length brackets on both sides
