Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

All,

Just haven't gotten a good recommendation yet for a shop to rebuild my 01 Ford 4R100 transmission. The 7.3 powerstroke is notorious for eating through these transmissions, and I am interested in a local shop that does a rebuild that competes with the BTS rebuild.

My prioirities are as follows:

1. Local Shop that can provide a long warranty that would be good at areas all over the NW or beyond without having to bring the rig back to them.

2. Reputation and recommendations from more than just the brother in-law.

3. A shop that has a history of long life transmissions.

4. Fair prices.

TIA,

Steve

Not Aamco.

Barret transmission in bellingham did my 4r100 and when it shifted it almost threw my coffee in the back seat, it was indestructable also I put it to the test.

@Aaron  - thanks I've have some experience with them and had no intentions. They are amateurs in my book when it comes to building something for better durability.  The focus on the mid market.

@Matt, Did they install a shift kit or did you have one already in? I have one now and yes makes a huge difference in no slipping and wearing the clutch plates prematurely.

BANKs touqe converter and Trans-command unite for the 4R100 tranny!!! plus keeping your vehicle stock and not hot rodding it is a good way for it to last.....  i dont know of any tranny place thou? ive never had tranny issue's. sorry man

dynamite diesel in monroe?

My dad had his redone, can't remember where, my 7.3 has 220K miles on it and knock on wood the original transmission, good luck Steve.

I'll knock on some wood for you too, that is amazing. If you happen to find out where he got his done, shoot me a message, Since yer dad's in my neck of the woods, I would prefer something more local to Puyallup.
