Washington Fishing

I helped dig this poor soul off a sand bar in August during a Washington Bass Association Club Tournament. We will call this person "Ron". :) Apparetly he thought his boat was so good it could walk on land. If you notice you can see the dog running though the ankle deep water in the background.

That there is "Big Fish Ron"! And he's not stuck... He just pulled over to take a leak and got knocked down by a Carp! Happens all the time!

This is a photo I took while rescuing my good buddy after he woke me up. I took it not to embarrass him, but to make sure he remembers that he owes me a favor some day when I am in trouble. It just so happened to be in that same tournament. I will also admit to sticking my boat back behind big dune in the same tournament, but I was able to free myself since I was not quite as stuck as these two fine gentlemen plus my boat is far lighter :)
Nope! Definately clam diggers.
What I want to know is who the F carries a shovel on their boat? 2 shovels??????????? They must have the Bill Dance survival kit.
Those came with the Koshi rescue service courtesy of Mark Olmsted

Hey Ben,

If I remember correctly, didn't a certain somebody need to get pulled off a dune by an airboat during a Potholes tournament back in 2009? I have pictures to prove it and I am not afraid to use them!!

hahaha i remember that

That poor boat has been welded so many times. It's still going though :)

That was in Mikes jet boat where you are trying to make a 5 foot channel and know you are taking a risk when you go back there. Not purely lost...

P.S. the coastie thing was just a joke. There are times when if you aren't getting stuck or beating up your boat back there you aren't fishing.

You got to give them a little slack, I mean there are no sandbars at all over on the west side. PLUS, not all of us have a 12ft dinghy...
Fishing Potholes in the late summer and fall isn't fun unless you run up on a bar once or twice :) That little jet boat of Mike's is a trooper Ben I've seen it when he had it stripped down in his garage.

During the Ole Farts Tournament on Sept. 11, 2010, one member was attempting to dredge a canal to Moses Lake. That is a real 4-wheeler pulling him out, a motorcycle driving around and a dog walking around. The boater was watching his GPS and not the surroundings.

I hope you know that I am just joking with you. Truth be told there were two other boats that same tournament that ran up on dunes. Luckily neither one of those required a tow out but I know for a fact one took a little bit of work since it happened to be mine. Frickin Crab Creek!!! ha ha
