Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Certainly not a fisheries biologist but I can "assume" this isn't beneficial to the bass and musky fishery. Cruised out today (Nov.15 2014) and snapped some pics. The majority of the lake is bone dry. I, along with many other anglers are in regular contact with WDFW about the overall status and well being of Lake Tapps. Apparently Cascade Water Alliance has rules about trespassing on the lake bed. These pics are from public roads. (Hi Leatherface) I suppose we won't know the real damage until Spring/early Summer. We knew it was coming but this seems excessive. I should have purchased more raffle tickets.

I have said it once and will say it again..CWA can screw off. They've screwed the pooch from the beginning. Now making their pitch about how the snow and rain levels messed this whole planning up to refill the lake. I remember last spring meterologists and scientists stating then that this last years snow would be less than even last years snow pack. How about listening to those folks in the know CWA? I'm pissed as a fisherman and pissed as a resident out here. And I call bullcrap on your excuses!! Your facts are endearing to the hearts of all the residents that didnt know. And pulling their heart strings on how hard you are going to work to get the lake filled..again..bullcrap!! The "fact" was out there ..less snow and a warmer winter than normal was out there..and you folks didnt listen. I certainly hope the homeowners drill you guys..and the fisherman and boating public hold your necks down with their foot and hold you to your promises. The public is not as stupid as you think!

As of right now the lake is at 527 feet..and its been there for the last 2 weeks and no water coming in at all right now!

A dude I know would always say.."ignorance is bliss." Well CWA was ignorant. And should be held accountable for this dilemma it put itself into. Its screwed the fishery, the enviroment around it and the taxpayers that live along its shoreline. So whatcha gonna do when the lake level comes up and then you all start selling the water to Bellevue? oh yes.."bliss" when the $$$ starts rolling into your pockets! Douches!!

Tacoma Power should pay attention too. Mayfield Dam produces hydroelectric power no rain or snow above Riffe..will affect Mayfield Lake possibly this summer. Also as well as Pacific Power on Merwin.. same scenerio.. then throw in the forest fire possibilities..hmm?

As you have seen on the news just recently, Lake Washington also is in a bit of trouble too. Lack of snowpack and rain..could drop significantly..

Again like I said..Cascade Water Alliance.. you all suck!! And thanks for screwing my lake!!

As of 7:58 pm. From the USGS Lake Tapps water level is 530.01 ft. Another 12 feet to go to full pool. Thanks Cascade Water Alliance..you all rock!!
