Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I am heading to Banks lake this weekend with the family.  I was hoping to try and get in on some walleye action.  Have not done this since I was a kid with my father.  Looking for any advice that I can get on locations, baits etc.  I appreciate any input.  We are staying at coulee playland fyi.

Thank you,

Dave

One of my best spots for the big eyes is around the back side of Steamboat next to the road.
Just troll between 1-2 mph with a worm on a double whammy. green and orange.
Thank you for the help Ron. Are you talking the road over on Barker Flats?

Ive had good luck with wallies south off the populars in around 40 foot depths in the middle of august. around 36 inch's was the norm.

Mike Matkowski and I caught 7 nice walleye during yesterday's bass tournament.  Most were over 5 pounds, and we caught them as shallow as 7 feet on jerkbaits and crankbaits, and as deep as 21 feet on football Hula Grubs and dropshot.  They were really health and fat!

holy smokes! man i cant wait to get back to banks!!! these dang bills lol

Dave,

I'm heading to Banks labor day weekend, how did you do?  I'm also looking for any advice on where and how to catch walleyes.

Thanks,
Mark

I posted this question last year (2010).  So I don't have an answer for you. Sounds like Marc did well on some walleye while bass fishing.  Good luck and I hope you catch a bunch of these excellent tasting walleye.

south of steamboat (igeuss im posting this late, sorry dude) along the populars and back into the bay , north of steam boat just past launch up there along the big rock. ive caught my best wallies in around 35 to 45 foot depths, look for points and flats, and caught smaller ones up shallow. i dont know too much, only what i do know too find um and catch um.
