I emailed Senator Patty Murray then emailed the link to everyone in my address book.
Just got home and found this email.
Dear Tracey, Late yesterday evening the Senate Ways and Means Committee adopted an amendment to the 2010 Supplemental Budget that maintains the Department of Fish and Wildlife as a separate entity from the Department of Natural Resources. You will recall CCA Washington issued an action alert to our…

Thanx to our sponsors generosity, CMA was able to raise enough money at last year's Mayfield Open Tiger Musky tournament to make a monetary donation to C.A.S.T.
C.A.S.T. is about the best thing going for getting kids fishing in Washington and Jim Owens is by far the best person to run this organization. Great job Jim. Keep up the good work.
You can count on CMA again this summer.

Does anyone have any 2010 northern pike fishing stories yet? Warm temps should have them up early this spring.

This sign was the brain child of CMA board member Scott Hughes a couple years ago and is posted at all musky lakes' boat launches and resorts etc.
CMA putting it's best foot forward for the protection of the fishery.

I just wanted to get Stan Durst a bit of advertizing for the wonderful painting he does at a very reasonable price with a fast turn around. Three musky baits - Gold Okaboji, Tiger Musky and Natural Bluegill, and two bass baits with my own design - Midnight Crawdad. Stan's a member of this site if you need to contact him.

I thought that would get your attention.
Yeh, it's about Lk Tapps. Many 'bank' fishermen and women have used the shorelines and Puget Sound Energy dikes the last couple of years for fishing and just taking a walk. I usually pick up some trash along these dikes on my fishing trips but lately it's way out of hand. My last trip and in only one cove filled two garbage bags plus many large objects that took up the floor of my boat for the rest of the day.
The main point I'm going to make…

Just a reminder folks to pay attention to the 'No Wake' zones on the lakes we fish.
This morning(5/27) a Nitro bass boat w/musky club decal on it lauched about the same time I did but took off well within the 'no wake' zone of the Pierce Co N Tapps Park. They were flying as they passed within yards of a 5 mph buoy.
Gentlemen, the property owners of Lk Tapps would like nothing better than to shut these boat launches down to the public. Let's not give them any ammunition, please.
I…

I'm looking forward to this great bass tournament again this year. I love the way it's run. Non-competitive and fun. The camaraderie is the best and the crew that's put it on the last ?30 years are great.
I'll be heading over this Sat and Sun for some early season pre-fishing and some walleye fishing while we're there. Craig is going with me this weekend.
Anyone else fishing this event?
Anyone going to be there this weekend?

There's not a lot of them but what I've caught a real nice ones. I've netted a few for other anglers in my boat also. Some of the good ones have come on musky spinnerbaits and bucktails but I've targeted them this early with soft plastics and caught some nice ones. My best at Mayfield is 4lb 2oz.
Anybody else fish smallies at Mayfield? How do you fish for them?

I was in Auburn Sports the other day and noticed a gentleman buying his 09 fishing license. It was a good reminder to me since I hadn't bought mine yet. I did when this man was finished paying for his.
I just thought I'd remind you folks to get yours also.

2-FER: 2 lakes in two days.
Silver Lake near Spokane on Sat, May 30th and Newman Lake on Sun, May 31st.
We're hoping to get the opportunity to fish with some Spokane local folks, make new acquaintances and have some fun.
This is an OPEN event - meaning there is no membership required to participate. A small $20 entry fee covers the pay out for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes and permit costs.
Any questions, PM me or email me.

Mine would have to be the 1 oz Ducktail spinnerbait in black. Could be just because I throw it more than most other blade/hair baits but since spinnerbaits are more weedless, I can throw it more places.
The 'big fish' question didn't draw much attention so maybe this one will. I'd sure like to hear from everyone on what they like to throw and how they work it.

My favorite glider is a 6" Bikini Bait Co Turmoil but I also like Phantoms. I probably throw a glider 1/2 the time I'm on the water and have been pretty darn lucky with them. I like the satisfaction in working a lure to the action you think is right and then have a musky hammer it. I get plenty of satisfaction from catching muskies on other lures also but not near as much as I do from 'walking the dog' with a glider.

Just trying to ge a feel for what you guys like to throw for that big girl you've seen but haven't been able to count yet.
I think my best big fish bait so far has been a Ducktail Lures bucktail. What's yours?
