Randy lost his battle with brain cancer this morning. He has been asleep for 26 hours. I noticed a tear under his left eye and then he took his last breath. There's no more suffering and pain. He mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he wished he could smile again (the tumor took away that ability.)

We are looking to have his memorial service in about 10 days, but I will post here and on Randy's community facebook page when it will be.  www.facebook.com/messagesforrandysasoshaw this is his Facebook page. We would love to have the WaFish community attend if you would like.

We are thankful for what the WAFish community did for him by taking him on his fishing adventure. He talked about that day many times. Thank you for being a part of his life. WaFish.com is an amazing community of wonderful, caring people.

Randy Saso-Shaw, 24 was born in Renton, Washington on February 22, 1989. Randy came into lives of Michael, Sondra, and Malia Shaw of Gig Harbor at the age of 12. Randy fought a long battle with brain cancer like a warrior, and always maintained a positive outlook. His strongest trait was staying upbeat, even during the greatest trials of his life. He never let anything stand in his way from achieving his goals, including earning his high school diploma during his battle. Randy participated in the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk annually. His motto was “la vita e’ bella,” life is beautiful. Randy succumbed to his illness on August 13, 2013. He touched the hearts and lives of many. He was a beacon of light and brought joy and laughter to all.

Randy loved to entertain friends, watch movies and to cook. He took pride his friendships. A significant person in Randy’s life was his high school girlfriend Jordyn Panitzke. Their friendship remained unmatched.

A Celebration of Life for Randy will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church in Gig Harbor. Service to begin at 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Randy to: Ivy Center, 747 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122 206-386-2738

My condolences.  Josh is correct...  good on you for not only helping Randy through his fight, but for also bringing awareness to the effects of cancer.
