The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Hey guys...

So my dad, my brother, and I headed out to Silver Lake, (Spokane County), for some bass and maybe a musky. We started off by getting just a couple bites, nothing much, so we moved to the other side of the lake, and my brother had one small bass on for a couple seconds, but then it got off. We decided to head back to the launch and eat some lunch. After that, we headed for a cove almost straight across from the launch. We were fishing in there for a few, when i hear my brother yell, "no!!!" He had his spinning rod behind him leaning against the wall of the boat. He was using his baitcaster when he hooked the eye of his spinning rod, and casted it out of the boat into the water. You would think the rod would be easy to find, since we were only in about 6 feet of water, but nooooo... There was a lot of weeds on the bottom and about 4 feet of silt under that. All we could do was watch his rod get eaten by the lake. After about an hour of searching, we gave up and finally headed home. So if any of you guys are ever out there and snag a Cabelas pro guide with a Mitchell Spinning reel on it, send me a message! lol what a day...

I find Silver to be a great fishing lake, it can be frustrating, but that the challenge. Sorry to hear about your rod, I know the cove you were at if I hook it Ill let you know,

yes, plus, now is the time to switch to a bigger boat, so we have a better place to put the rods instead of leaning them on the sides of the boat! again, 3 people and a dog bass fishing out of a 14' boat does not make any sense at all. BTW, just got my ass handed to me at eloika...

Now is the time to upgrade to a good G Loomis or Lamiglass rod and a good Shimano reel.

Let me get this straight....everyone says the lake sucks (and it does) you have never caught any fish out of it.....so that means you are definitely going back?
