Depends on the target, I've got a couple cast away rods for flipping and pitching or swim baits, an Okuma for light weight jerk baits and crank baits and I recently got a Cabelas pro guide for lightweight Texas rigged worms. I liked the action and they were having a hell of a sale on them

I have a couple of the Veritas rods and really like them. I like the sensitivity and the feel. Especially the heavy action rod I have. My old heavy action would make my wrist sore in no time The Veritas is nice and light and I can use it for hours. For the price these are great rods. I must say, I was at a Sportsmans Warehouse recently and all of their Veritas rods were $89 I bought my rods from a local store and paid $100 for one and more than that for the heavy action.

Deion,

In the upper right corner there is a "search washington fishing" box where you can look at alot of threads about rods. Alot of great info is out there, and so alot of guys won't add to the new threads because they would be repeating themselves a bit....

there are hundreds, even thousands of different casting rods each with their own specific application.

I will tell you one rod I like. Its a Gloomis 894JWR. It is a very powerful, very light rod that is very sensitive. I can flip a jig with it all day instead of getting worn out. Its my favorite rod, and its built for my favorite technique.
