Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I'm really getting tired of this, but here's some more information regarding Whatcom:

A gate will be constructed at the ramp.  If you want to go out early to fish, you will have to call Public Works ahead of time.

The "annual" fee isn't "annual" at all; the permit expires December 31.  Since our season ends on October 31, you're looking at six months at best for fifty bucks.

It just keeps getting better and better.

What is the chance that PW will actually show up to open the gate? What if you are night fishing, will they let you out?

Dana, You need to come out of your shell and tell us how you really feel.

Joe,

I've been outspoken trying to tell everyone what would happen. Now, all you dumb $hit$ that bought into this crap, are going to take it right up the gazoo. Are all of you that stupid? When are you going to grow a sack and stand up to these jerk offs? This is only the start, next will be a total shutdown of the lake to all motorized watercraft. I predicted this in a previous post, anyone want to dispute me on this. Bring it, you liberal Barack Obama supporters. I don't think any of you could tear a wet paper sack. Come on, bring me some hate mail. I'm not such a pu$$y that I can't take some criticism. You all are making me want to PUKE. I have not heard much from the local "experts" lately, what's up?

Kelli Linville, I demand your resignation as mayor of Bellingham. You are a pathetic excuse as a leader. You are attacking the moral fiber of Bellingham, in doing so you are attacking me as a citizen. I hope you are prepared for the fight of you political career, I will not rest till you are out of office

I'm not sure.  The PW employee "implied" (he shrugged his shoulders and nodded) there would be no problem, but no one has been able to tell me exactly how this will work.  Personally, I would pay Dana's fee just to see what happens when he takes his boat to public works.

If I read this correctly, it's at the behest of public works, and our season has been shortened by a month.

Recommendation #1: Seasons and Hours of Operation
Staff recommends that all public and quasi-public bo
at launches around Lake Whatcom be subject to
seasons and hours of operation when staff are present to
ensure that all watercraft have been inspected
prior to launching into the lake. Outside of these se
asons and hours of operation, launches will be gated
and locked. The recommended season of operation will
be from the end of April (when the fishing
season begins) through the end of September, with a f
lexible end date depending upon weather
conditions. Recommended launch hours of operation are
from dawn until dusk; however, hours may be
modified depending on the launch site in question. W
atercraft will be allowed to launch on a by

appointment basis during the off-season

Wow, that's pretty bad.

Thanks for the info Joe, do you know when the gates actually open? Sounds like the answer is dusk? Also, do you know where exactly we are supposed to buy these permits in the meantime? Was looking forward to some Lake Whatcom smallmouth fishing, now not so much...

I wonder if PW will take requests the day prior so that you can meet them at a certain time in the morning? If so, I will make sure they are there every Fri, Sat and Sun morning at daybreak in October. I might accidentally sleep in a time or two as well! They aren't keeping me off that lake in October. I will find a way.

might have to bombard them with phone calls telling them they need to be there every morning.  Wether you actually show up or not, is beside the point....

Haha, good ideas guys

Here's the link.  Apparently you pay online, then go have your boat inspected.

So with the Lake Whatcom Open coming up on April 27th, what do people need to do in order to get their boats on the lake for the event and be complient?

Is Borderline Bass Club doing anything to ensure we will be able to fish it (gate open, people there to inspect or whatever needs to get done)?

Can we do anything to help??? Can we contact Sudden Valley and pay a sum to hold the even there or what does it take to use an alternate launch site?
