Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

This is what is happening to the smallmouth on our river folks....Who would be willing to contribute to a GoFundMe account, and who knows an attorney who would be willing to take on WDFW?

I will chip in what I can. If we don't all stand up now what is next!! Come on and chip in what you can $5.00 would still help the cause. No contribution is to small!!

The Native American tribes and WDFW people obviously have individuals advocating for the destruction of smallmouth; the point is they have paid-full time advocates.  Why doesn't/hasn't Washington State have an advocate for warmwater?  Bruce Boldin obviously is not a warm-water advocate, he is just a political pawn interested in the money.  Why hasn't our state, or three states, banned together to at least get one or two people working on this issue full-time?

I'd support anything that is well thought out and organized.   I would recommend avoiding posting the facts, strategy or desired outcomes on a public forum.

Yes, it's from our general area.  It was on my FB...From someone who keeps A LOT OF SMALLMOUTH, and knows how to fish for them.

Guys, I am thinking of doing some fundraisers through Columbia Basin Bass Club...In order to raise funds to create a board that will go to the Inland Fish Policy Advisory Board WDFW meetings...Basically, enough to cover fuel, lodging, and food I am hoping...I don't know much about this stuff; about who can go, when the meetings are.  But we need much more representation.

The meetings where WDFW decides the crap laws they make, does anyone know, is anyone invited, and are their opinions considered?  Or are only select people invited?  How does it work?

Agreed, all the more reason to organize and find the "right" type of leaders. We as Bass fishermen are way behind, it's time to organize and check our egos at the door for the future of our passion.

If we strike early and are not prepared, we could totally blow all future opportunities. There are fishermen that share our passion and possess the required leadership, education, political clout and desire to fight these issues. We just need to reach out.

We are at a major turning point for our sport and passion, I hope that we are up to the challenge.

I agree Dana and Jake....Just FYI, I will be talking to a lawyer tomorrow....

I'm in....the right Lawyer is key - most will take a case for money. Maybe tap in to BASS for advice?

Ben

Let us know when the GOFundMe account is up....I am ready to donate.

I'm also in. Like Jon said maybe B.A.S.S can help us in fighting this, weather it be monetarily, advice, leading us in the direction, so on, a national/worldwide organization should be able to help.
