Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I'm gonna be there (oahu) for vacation in a few weeks - anyone ever done any fishing there?  I know there is a lake with bass and peacocks and have seen a few guide sites.  Maybe something from the beach?

Not really interested in doing the party boat salt charter thing.

I fished for bonefish from the shore there before it was fun........just throw something like a carolina rig with a small squid on it, that the way we did it and it was a blast.....you can also throw big jigging spoons for them. We pretty much caught them where ever there was some sort of a small inlet with rocks butting up the shore.
I thought bonefish were like skittish trout? you gotta sneak up on them with quietly laid flies and whatnot? Is it easy enough to just buy some cheap gear and chuck/wind out on the beach?

Thx for the lake wilson info jonathan/aaron. I have a feeling I'm just gonna spend a half day there with some guide hoping to add a peacock to the list. do you remember who your guide was?
Cant guarantee anything lol. Especially if I'm hung over.

a hook 'n look is acceptable only if it is a walrus.
Go figure you caught a fish on a spinnerbait, that really suprises me.

I hired a guide when I was there. It was worth it, nothing big for fish but lots of them and they were easy to catch. Just threw a spinner bait around and flipped a jig. But had to say I caught a Bass in hawaii..
I would recommend a day spent with Chris and his dad.
You'll add the elusive Peacock to your list.
We were treated to a good day of fishing in Paradise.
Peacocks on the small side, but Peacocks none the less.

I lived on Kauai for 2 years. You can catch largemouth ,smallmouth and peacock bass. Like Aaron said do your research and hire a guide.Make a few calls and they will usually call you back but remember they are on Hawaiian time no hurry!
Try this site, good father and son guides on Lake Wilson.
