Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I have been "invited" by my other half to vist her family in Seattle. It is a fine city as citys go, but I'm not looking forward to 4 days of shopping,  thought I would bring my 17' Boston Whaler and check out the fishing. I have heard there is some good bass fishing and I would appreciate some idea of where to start. Is there any decent fishing within an hour of the Ballard district?

Thanks

lake washington and lake sammamish
Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish are both good bass lakes and right there on the Eastside!  Good Luck!

Scott,

There is a marina in Ballard if you want to fish the salt, otherwise Lake Washington in less than 30minutes to a launch and Lake Samammish is probably 50 minutes to the launch... in Favorable traffic. Stay away from the 520 bridge if you decide to go to Samammish. Lake Wa, is more than enough for you to get your fill.  Bring your soft plastics in natural colors. Both Lakes are filled with Perch, trout and Crawdads.  You can find some Youtube and other videos online to give you more info if you will do a web search.

Make sure you get your license, both Lakes are well patrolled.

Have fun!

Thanks Guys, I really appreciate the info. I do believe I can look forward to visiting Seattle now.

How big of an effort is it to fish the salt out of Ballard? It doesn't look like salmon will be open on Memorial weekend. Is there ling or halibut within a reasonable distance?

Thanks, Scott
