Hey david. The lake has a lot of weeds in the 5-20 foot range. I found a few fish on deep docks Saturday afternoon. Hit the shady sides with the DS and the outside weed lines. Half the lake is rocks and the edges are mostly gradual, so fish tend to be pretty spread out.

Don't pass up the opportunity to throw a topwater in the morning.  Can't beat a Sugoi Splash, small Sammy, or small Lucky Craft Gunfish.

Ok thanks for the replay guys..
And marc, that's the other thing I forgot to mention! I just got some new super spook Jr. So I'll be trying those out in the morning! Nothing better than a big bass exploding on top water!
As for the drop shot, did you have any luck with a certain color? I was just gonna throw a robo 4" or a watermelonseed w/ flakes 4" senko.
Thanks for the tips again and I'll post our results later on tomorrow..

alright time for the report. lol well what i can say was it was a badass day!

we got there at 8 am and were pulling out at 5pm

1. we cought over 100 rock bass between 3 of us, 2 good sized perch, and i got a lake trout on my drop shot setup. lol that was a first

2. the air force was out training and we got to see people jumping/ parachuting out of a helicopter by the lake, and seen a ton of f-16 hornets flying about 200ft over the lake.

3. when we first got there, i was throwing a super spook jr. "walking the dog" with no luck while my dad and friend were catching rock bass back to back on a poper. so i tied on also and started slaying also.

next i grabed my drop shot rod and cought a ton more rock bass on that setup with 4" roboworm after getting tired of fishing with  a drop shot, i grabbed another rod and tied on a red 1/8oz jig head, with a green and gold flake 4" yamamato single tale grub and still slayed the rock bass, we were all using this setup, and were stitching between this, a sr5 and sr7 rapala and got rock bass all day long, the only downfall was that was all we could get to bite, no smallies or largies this time :(

anyways it was a awesome time fishing and ill deff be back out there again.

does anyone know why the rock bass are so aggresive and populatd?? lol

anyone else have luck finding bigger bass out there?

Here is an 8.10 pound largemouth that was caught last Saturday at the "Take A Warrior Fishing" day. Steve Hastings put SPC Robert Parrish on this Mama Pesce, dropshotting with a Yamamoto worm and 3/16 oz QuickDrops dropshot weight, and 6lb test!

Bass can be hard to catch there, but there are some real good largmouths and smallmouths.

They don't get built any better than that.  What a fish, especially on light line!
