Hello, I'm new to the forum and new to bass fishing in general. I've heard that there are bass lurking in the lakes on Fidalgo Island such as Campbell and Erie. How ever in my attempts to catch a bass I have come up empty handed every time. So I was curious if anyone had any advice about how to find and catch them? Or if there are even bass still in these lakes?

I know a few guys that fish Campbell and do pretty well on good size fish. However there is not alot of fish, so a few fish a day would be a good day there but the fish are generally bigger. As for Erie have no idea, never fished it. I know that does not help much but atleast you know there are fish in Campbell now.
A friend of mine stationed there on Whidbey used to float tube these lakes and catch fish. I know he got a 5 pounder once. He used to talk to the locals and they all said those lakes had decent bass fishing. I know this isn't a lot of help, but maybe it will give you a little more confidence.
Thanks for all the replies! Still trying Campbell but haven't had any luck yet. I did flip a jig into some brush by the high way and when I took up the slack it felt heavier then it got light again. I guess that could have been a fish and I just don't know what a pick up feels like yet. John G. I might take you up on that offer, I'm out of town a lot in August though so I don't know how that will work out. In about 2 weeks I'm heading off to banks lake for a guided bass fishing trip so hopefully I will finally get a bass as well as some good experience and hands on guidance. Thanks again everyone! I'll post if I ever manage a bass ha ha, until then I'm just gonna keep fishin!
