Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

For those who might not be aware, You can get a refund on the fuel you buy for your boat. The tax is 37.5 cents per gallon, I'm sure boaters who use several gallons per year fishing several tournaments, plus fun fishing, and pre fishing, would prefer that money in their pocket as apposed to the State.

               As I've stated :-

Fuel tax is 37.5 cents per Gallon.

Refunds may be subject to an 8.2% sales tax.

Refunds may be subject to a 1% tax per gallon for

                                           waterway restoration.

Claims should be filed within 13 months  from the date the fuel was purchased.

Thank you,

Wouldn't that fuel tax refund only apply if you were to own a business ? Say a outdoorsy business ? I know I cannot get money back for the RTA tax I pay for my trailer. But we do for our vehicles. I will read the info but if you know off the top of your head that info would be appreciated. thanks.

No, the Gas Tax is for the up-keep and building of hiways and seeing as boat fuel is used on the water-ways not the hi-ways that is the reason for the refund. Type in boat gas tax refund and you'll see.
