Do you know who andy gemmill is I think he takes a trip to clear lake last part of march he can get you started
Clear Lake is a lot of fun, I have been there 3 times in Feb. and March. 4-7 lb. bass are very common and 9-10 bass are very possible. I will try to attach a picture of a trip my sons and I took to give you an idea. Never fished Shasta.

Are you looking for quantity or quality.  Shasta in April is insane with numbers of spotted bass and a few largemouth thrown in.  Clear lake can produce some numbers also but nothing like Shasta, but at Clear lake any cast can yiel you a 10+ lb largemouth.

Shasta is simple that time of year.  Look for major creek / coves and start fishing the points until you run into fish.  Dropshot, dart heads with hand pour worms, and some topwater action.

Clear lake that time of year, flipping, spinnerbaits, cranks, pretty much anything works that time of the year, it's a matter of finding an area with a good concentration of fish and figuring out what they will hit.  Last time in April when I was there, the Keys was red hot with spinnerbaits and rapala jerkbaits.

Clear lake! And then maybe slip down to the other end of Clear lake, and on the way home stop at Clear lake !If possible to plan around the full moon do so.You will have the best bed fishing of your life.Yeh I like Clear Lake.

Clear Lake!  Even though the fishing is tougher this year than most, it is especially worth it to go in April.  Mama Pesce will be spawning in the Tulles, and there will also be a lot of jerkbait fish available.  I got my biggest tournament bass at Clear Lake in April, a nine-pounder caught with a wacky rigged 6" Senko, dropshotted in the tules.

Gene,

I'm thinking Potholes or Moses Lk. After the fishing day is done, I'm talking some good "ol" cookin from Jamie's kitchen at the Potholes mansion. You know your room is alway's on reserve, lets fun fish the s*** out of them this year.

Regards,

Your Coastie Buddy

If u go to clear lake call Bob at Limit Out Tackle in the Keys. He has rooms for rent very reasonable and will put u on fish. Lived on clear lake for 7 years, totally diff. Than Shasta, which is a deep mountain lake. Clearlake is shallow with lots of docks and big fish.
That was a metaphor dumbass. My point was big fish or small fish.
