As much as KVD is "The Man", Aaron Martens is within a few ounces of being a four-time Bassmaster Classic champion himself: second in 2002, 2004, 2005 and again in 2011.
"Kevin says that it's actually harder to finish second four times than it is to win it four times," Martens joked today when I caught up to him during the seven-hour drive back to his home in Leeds, Alabama.
Aaron has always been one of the nicest guys I've dealt with covering the tours, and I won't kid you, I was pulling for him hard when he came out of Day 1 with a lead.
So here's the schedule: Aaron Martens in the 6 o'clock hour, Kevin VanDam in the 7 o'clock hour. Same offer: any questions for Aaron Martens? Let's hear 'em.

Joel can you ask him about the scrounger?
I've heard him talk a lot about the scrouger, Can you ask him when and where he would use the scrounger up here in the northwest.
aaron is known for the UNconventional
how does he "get there" with the uncoventional technique, lure, presentation
for example, one year he finished second primarily with a hair jig, another the "underspin" or horsey head which has become poppular with the spots (last years FLW Cup)
